F-2A Viper Zero

Japan’s F‑2A “Viper Zero” is a modern multirole fighter derived from the F‑16 Block 50. It features a larger composite wing (+25% area), AESA radar (J/APG‑2), HMD, datalink, a 20 mm cannon, and flexible loadouts including air-to-air (SARH, ARH, IR) and anti-ship missiles

Playstyle

Unlike the F‑16, the F‑2A performs best low and fast. Use its stealthy radar to lock SARH missiles silently, or go BVR with AAM-4/4B. In close fights, engage with AAM-5 or cannon. Avoid high-altitude hover fights—low TWR and few countermeasures make it safer near terrain

Pros and Cons

Pros
➕ AESA radar + stealthy SARH/ARH missiles (AAM-4/AAM-4B)
➕ Larger wing gives strong maneuverability and payload
➕ Moderate TWR (~1.14), good roll/turn rates
➕ Flexible multirole capability (air, ground strike)

Cons
➖ Low countermeasure load (30 flares, 60 chaff)
➖ Weaker climb than F‑16 (low TWR)
➖ Struggles in sustained high-altitude fights
